Yum Cha London
AUTHENTIC CHINESE CUISINE - DIMSUM/YUM CHA
Yum Cha London
Yum cha directly translates to ‘drink tea’ and is a beloved Cantonese tradition that blends tea-drinking with dim-sum. Yum cha is more than just a meal; it’s a social event. From its humble beginnings in Southern China’s teahouses, yum cha has spread worldwide for people of all walks of life to enjoy.
At Fei Er Cottage, we’re excited to offer you an authentic yum cha experience right here in the heart of London. Our restaurant offers our customers sanctuary in the middle of a bustling city- it’s the perfect place to unwind with friends and family.
Using time-honoured methods true to tradition, our master chefs take fresh, locally sourced ingredients and turn them into mouth watering dim sum dishes. From savoury dumplings to sweet buns, there’s sure to be something that tickles your fancy.
Of course, no yum cha is complete without a pot of hot, aromatic tea. We offer a range of flavours designed to complement our dim sum. Whether you’re a tea enthusiast or just here for the food, our tea selection will round out your yum cha experience.

Yum Cha and Dim Sum Etiquette
Yet to experience yum cha in London? Not to worry- at Fei Er Cottage we’re happy to guide you through. But for now, here are some of the basics:
Pouring Tea: Tea is one of the most, if not the most, important element of yum cha. It’s custom, however, for an individual to pour tea for everyone else before themselves. If somebody fills your teacup for you, you can tap the table with two fingers to show your gratitude.
Ready for More Tea? Simply lift the lid or place it slightly ajar to let our waiting staff know you’re ready for a refill.
Choosing Dim Sum: Traditionally, you select your dim sum from carts that are rolled around the restaurant. If you need extra clarification about what’s on offer, or feel like trying something new, don’t be afraid to ask.
Eating Dim Sum: Sharing is caring when it comes to dim sum. You can use your chopsticks to take a piece from the shared plate onto your own. For larger items like buns, it’s sometimes a good idea to split them into smaller portions.
